Perhaps some animal type of exploration of energy in an environment
suggested by last section of music. Gentle exploration of
two bodies listening through skin envelopement of thoughts.
Water. Little girls. Best freinds sitting. on the beach.
talking about life. Its about how many times you have to tell
your best freind to stop doing something that annoys you.
Its about how many times you say I love you.
First movement is very fluid almost trance like with the
numbers being spoken in a vacuum. No need for music. Hypnotic.
Mixture of asian and caucasioan dancers enjoyable. Neat position
with the dancers like two cats cuddling.. Found the first
choice of music grating.. Found the second choice of the sounds
from a forest more appropriate.
What is under the earth?. Plexiglass stage to see dimensions...drowning
underwater
Is it about definitions? Nature. Pollution. sexual orientation.
Fear of losing someone.
How do you sleep
LOSS. PRotECTION
The forest naked. Multi-layer bed of crispy auburn brown
leaves. The cuniferous greens glowing brilliantly. a fern.
moss. whisper of branches. Sun reflecting. Story of vertical
and horizontal. How strange the diagonal sprawling of a broken/fallen
tree. How immodest, the green clinging between root and trunk.
How soft each loud step.

Best use of Fetish gear: The versatile Eryn Dace Trudell
came (out) into her own with two pieces that explored female
eroticism this year. In My Private Venus, a funny, honest
solo presented in the 808 Series last January she danced on
a table with her arms bound behind her by a leather restraining
device.. A spoken text listed thoughts that might pass through
a dancers head during a performance emphasizing the sexual
relationship between the dancer and audience. Elimination
of Lateral Violence was a collaborative work performed
at fFIDA by Trudell and Susan Lee. Two female figures barely
wearing rubber wear, invented a gentle, cruel erotic relationship.
Watching this I thought about how, in a sophisticated urban
culture we look to art and to sex to fill our need for ritual.
And how powerful such exchange can be.

Eryn Dace Trudell, Buddies in Bad Times Theatre, August 18-For
the most enigmatic eye-popper of this year's fFIDA blowout,
the deliriously daring Damn Straight Siren teamed up with
the sizzling Susan Lee and donned some topless leather domination
duds for Elimination of Lateral Violence, an incredibly tense,
lurid, tempestuous and combative -yet loving-look at relationships.
